If you decide to spend your Christmas party cruising down the river then make sure your guests bring something warm, so they can enjoy the view better. Also, do check with the event manager (boat operator) about embark times; how long do you have and whether the boat stops off at any point during the event. Many boats will head down the river and return to the dock to let some guests off, before heading the other way.
Just check that your guests can all make the embark time, as it is not easy to join the party once the boat has set sail, as we do not recommend jumping off of Tower bridge into your colleagues arms unless they happen to have super-powers…
